The XXIV edition of Descida ao Sarrabulho took place on 15 November 2025 in Ponte de Lima, organised by BaToTas — Clube de Desportos Radicais de Ponte de Lima.
A ride with 20 km of descent
The event is not competitive: it is a leisure and social ride covering around 20 kilometres downhill, ending in the historic area of Ponte de Lima. Each year it brings together mountain biking enthusiasts from across the country.
A tradition since 1999
The Descida ao Sarrabulho is the most emblematic and popular activity of BaToTas, taking place uninterruptedly since the club's foundation in 1999. It combines three strong elements of Ponte de Lima's identity:
- Sport — mountain biking on a downhill route through the Minho landscape
- Landscape — rural trails and the natural setting of Alto Minho
- Gastronomy — Arroz de Sarrabulho served at the end
The dish as reward
At the end of the ride, with prior registration, the traditional meal is served: the iconic Arroz de Sarrabulho à Moda de Ponte de Lima, accompanied by rojões. It is the traditional way for participants to replenish their energy and celebrate the finish.
