With the official registration of Arroz de Sarrabulho à Moda de Ponte de Lima as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed by the European Union (EU Reg. 2025/98 of 14 January 2025), the dish became a prominent part of the gastronomic promotion strategy of Porto e Norte de Portugal — the regional tourism authority.
Context
European recognition opened the door to international promotion. The Municipality of Ponte de Lima, together with the Gastronomic Confraternity and Turismo do Porto e Norte, has been presenting the dish at various national and international forums and fairs.

- Strengthening the positioning of Ponte de Lima as a gastronomic destination
- Connection to tourist routes and organised culinary experiences
- Training and capacity-building for restaurants applying for certification
What changes for the visitor
Visitors arriving in Porto e Norte can now, more easily, identify Ponte de Lima as a mandatory stop to taste authentic Arroz de Sarrabulho at the 14 TSG-certified restaurants.
